Team RKMTs is in Vegas for the week long events leading up to the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals XIV. As we already know, JR will compete for the second time in the Young Guns Shootout on Friday night. Winning the YGS secures a spot in the World Finals for one lucky driver. Last year Razin Kane and El Loco Toro were first out and JR fell in the first race. It did turn out pretty good though when JR is awarded Rookie of the Year 2012. This year, TJ in the ICE CREAM MAN will also be on location in the massive pit party that awaits. Check out the pit party map at Monster Jam online.

The last few weeks for the team have been full of great racing by TJ in the ICE CREAM MAN and somewhat of a comeback from a rocky start for JR in RAZIN KANE.

For the second year now, we get to congratulate JR McNeal on being named as 1 of 8 drivers that will compete in the Young Guns Shootout at the World Finals in Las Vegas in March. This will be JR's second and final time that he can compete. The Young Guns Shootout is for drivers in their 1st or 2nd year in Monster Jam. Last year JR raced against Becky McDonough in El Toro Loco and while he lost, it was a great honor to be chosen. It was a close race last year...JR is equally honored again this year and the entire team at RKMTs is super stoked!

Last weekend's show was Team RKMTs second time in Tampa in 3 weeks. The second trip proved to be a better outing. We met a lot of new fans in Tampa, home town of our sponsor Amalie Motor Oil...Come on! Above we have JR's racing and freestyle. TJ did well racing, almost beating Max D his first race...Super Close! And falling to Madusa whose home town is Tampa also. Good show, TJ lost a tire in the ICM but it looked awesome and he got to pass out icees to the kids in the stands.

The Houston Texas show at Reliant Stadium had its ups and downs. JR started the night beating Medusa in 1st round of racing only to come back and break his right rear axle on the first jump during freestyle. It cost him points but he powered on. TJ on the other hand had some rear steering issues which took him out of 1st round racing but he did put on a good freestyle. Read about the whole night at MonsterJam.Com. Team RKMT's is stoked about our upcoming Tampa show this Saturday the 19th. We get to meet many employees of Amalie Motor Oil, our newest sponsor. It's great to be close to home too. Birmingham, Alabama Monster Jam was a good first outing for team RKMTs. Read the full reviews for all three shows at MonsterJam.com. Both JR and TJ had solid scores in wheelie and freestyle but fell short in racing. The team highlight was the ICM coming in 2nd on Saturday night in wheelie to Grave Digger. The trucks are in good shape and in Houston, Texas right now for this weekends' show at Reliant Stadium. This team has been home for a couple months and the work doesn’t stop when the shows stop.  Nonstop… JR, TJ, Melisa, Charli, Roy and a host of others who make this team run…have these guys been working to get these trucks off in tip top shape for the first Monster Jam show of the year!  TJ, Melisa and JR left this evening for Alabama, where the BJCC Arena is host to our first shows January 4th and 5th in Birmingham.  There have been a couple sudden schedule changes so please check the schedule tab for the latest dates.  We will keep them updated in the event of any more changes.  The past couple days in the RKMTs garage have been hectic but the team, as always, is on their way and in good shape.  A very special thank you to Buddy and Jamie and their families for coming by the RKMTs garage and helping for the past couple days.  Couldn’t be better people!  Come on!  Hats off to our biggest sponsors, Amalie Motor Oil and Daytona Dodge…we WILL do you proud this year and thank you for the continued support and faith in this team.
